The InstallationMasters™ Training and Certification Program is an important and exciting tool being offered to installers
of windows and doors all across the country. Developed in conjunction with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association,
this comprehensive program is administered by Architectural Testing.
The program is specifically designed to help installers:
- Avoid costly callbacks
- Improve energy efficiency
- Work more efficiently, optimizing both time and money
- Maximize product benefits for happier, more satisfied customers
InstallationMasters™, prompted by the Building Environment and Thermal Envelope Council (BETEC) through the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) and developed by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), provides training and certification for
installers of new construction and replacement windows and exterior glass doors in the residential and light commercial markets.
The program teaches the best practices and installation techniques based on established industry standards. It provides an assurance
that the installer has been trained and has passed the written test and is capable of following the best practices established by the
ASTM E 2112 standard for window, door, and skylight installation.
Completion of the two-day program and successful passing of the test allows participants to earn the InstallationMasters™
Identification Card, which shows they are officially certified through the InstallationMasters™ Program. As an
InstallationMaster™ certified installer, they become part of a select group and can use this additional training to
sell their skills and ability on every project they bid.

Architectural Testing is the independent, third-party manager of the InstallationMasters™ program. We are responsible for
ensuring the efficient operation of the program and the integrity and quality of the certification process for both installers and
installer trainers.
The services we provide include:
- Creation and updating of all training materials, including a 360-page training manual and 21-segment video.
- Operation of the exam process and validation of all exams.
- Management of the Installer Trainer program and accreditation process.
- Awarding of certification and maintenance of an Installer Certification Registry.
