DASMA Product Certification Program
DASMA developed a product certification program for garage doors as a means for garage door manufacturers to certify the performance ratings of residential and commercial garage doors.
The product certification program is governed by the Door and Access Systems Manufacturer’s Association Garage Door Certification Program Guidelines. These Guidelines are part of a third party Certification Program offered by the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers’ Association (DASMA) for garage door systems. These Guidelines constitute part of the agreement between manufacturers of garage doors (Licensees) and DASMA (the Program Sponsor). Architectural Testing is the third party Administrator/Validator of the Certification Program.
Participating garage door manufacturers must satisfy the program requirements for each certified garage door, and enter into a License Agreement with DASMA and Architectural Testing in order to participate. Quality control and production are periodically audited by Architectural Testing to validate the manufacturer’s certification on an ongoing basis.
This certification program allows participating manufacturers to certify to the following performance specifications:
ANSI/DASMA 108-2002, Standard Method for Testing Sectional Garage Doors: Determination of Structural Performance under Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference
ANSI/DASMA 108-2005, Standard Method for Testing Sectional Garage Doors; Determination of Structural Performance under Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference
ANSI/DASMA 115-05, Standard Method for Testing Sectional Garage Doors; Determination of Structural Performance under Missle Impact and Cyclic Wind Pressure
ASTM E330-02, Standard Test Method for Structural Performance of Exterior Windows, Curtain Walls, and Doors by Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference
Certified products must carry the certification label.
